Welcome to STEM Research 101¶
This module contains two chapters, Types of Resources and Scientific Databases:
Learning Outcomes:
Understand that peer-reviewed articles are often, in Western tradition, considered the most credible form of communication in STEM, but other formats are valuable in their openness, speed and breadth of dissemination.
Be aware that scientists must communicate information to a wide variety of audiences via different formats or communication styles, and select the format that best fits the intended audience.
Articulate the capabilities and constraints of information developed through various creation processes, especially with regard to those specific to STEM information generation.
Learning Outcomes:
Assess the scope of an information need and seek appropriate sources in accordance with that need.
